Government is reviewing all aspects of OROP: Manohar Parrikar

"Government is reviewing all aspects of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme and best interests of Armed forces will be taken into consideration," said Parrikar In an exclusive interview to India Today, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said that the government is reviewing all aspects of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme and best interests of Armed forces will be taken into consideration. "Want to differentiate between voluntary retirement for better prospects and premature retirement in the interest of the Army," Parrikar said. He added that a judicial commission has been set up to look into the issue of premature retirement.

  1. Yes our DM is right. Voluntary retirement is definitely different from PMR. The MOD must review the policy to extend the benefit of OROP to PMR cases and rightfully deny it to those who retire voluntarily for the green pasture outside the uniform.
